Frequently Asked Questions
- How long will it take to settle my case? Answer: It’s usually impossible to predict because there are so many variables. As a rule, we will not settle a case until your doctors indicate to us with confidence that you are recovered or have reached a maximum recovery. Different people recover at different rates. The best case scenario involves a quick recovery. If the recovery is quick, assuming a cooperative insurance company, then a settlement can occur shortly after treatment ends. However, if the injury is unfortunately more serious or if there are complications with recovery, then the value of the case increases and it takes longer to work out a settlement. Also, if there are disputes concerning who is responsible or if a lawsuit becomes necessary, then the process can be drawn out. In short, there are too many variables to predict how long it will take.
- How much is my case worth? Answer: Each case is different and there is no formula. Cases are settled using many variables. The nature and extent of the injury, fault or liability, past and future medical expenses, and past and future loss of earnings are just a few of the variables. At Neustadt & Berriz, its our job to maximize your recovery under the law and recover for our clients every dime they are legally entitled to recover.
- How much will it cost? Answer: Usually nothing out of pocket. We understand that most people cant afford $350-$400 per hour most top attorney charge for legal representation. Therefore, Neustadt & Berriz represents injured clients on a contingency fee basis, taking a percentage of the settlement, so there are no out-of-pocket expenses until the case is resolved and our fee and any costs advanced are paid at the end of the case.
